Job summary

A prominent law firm in Leeds is seeking a qualified lawyer with at least eight years of experience in Private Client matters. The role requires managing your own caseload and supervising a team on complex Wills, Trusts, and estate planning. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build client relationships are essential. Hybrid working is offered, with additional benefits including health coverage and well-being programs. Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Manage caseload and supervise team on a variety of Private Client matters.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients.
  • Handle complex issues requiring research and team discussion.
  • Liaise with other professionals on business succession and compliance.
  • Win new client business through referrals and networking.

Job description
What will I be doing
  • managing your own caseload and supervising others in the team to advise on a variety of Private Client matters, including complex Wills, Trusts, estate planning, cross border matters, and inheritance tax mitigation, administration of Estates and powers of attorney
  • building and maintaining relationships with clients as a trusted advisor on the full range of private client matters
  • dealing with complex issues that require research and discussion with other members of the team
  • liaising with lawyers and other professionals, both internally and externally in relation to business succession planning, management of foreign assets in other jurisdictions and HMRC compliance
  • winning new client business through referrals, networking and business development activities, 25 days annual leave + bank holidays (increasing to 28 days with length of service). There is also the option to purchase up to 5 additional days
  • Life assurance cover of 4 times basic salary, with the option to purchase additional cover

Qualifications
  • at least eight years post qualification experience of the full range of private client work including experience dealing with complex issues and working with businesses and individuals of high net worth
  • desire to be part of and mentored by a Legal 500 (Band 2) team with "a wealth of knowledge and experience amongst it" who have exceptional client relationships and are leaders in their field
  • strong knowledge and understanding of Private Client law, as well as a good understanding of the interaction between Corporate, Family and Property law
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to adapt to different clients' circumstances and backgrounds and to articulate and explain potentially complex points in a straightforward and clear manner
