Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation and delivery of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
- Perform detailed variance analysis and provide insights to support business performance.
- Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and ensure financial integrity.
- Manage the fixed asset register and depreciation schedules.
- Prepare and review accruals, prepayments, and other key journals.
- Coordinate the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts.
- Support statutory reporting and year-end audit processes.
- Ensure compliance with VAT, Intrastat, and EC Sales reporting requirements.
- Provide financial guidance and support for department managers and senior leadership.
- Supervise and mentor the Assistant Management Accountant.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and other third-party stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and systems (e.g., SAP).
- Support purchase ledger and sales ledger functions as needed.
- Carry out any other duties commensurate with the grading of the post as may be directed by the line manager.
Qualifications
- Fully qualified accountant (AAT Level 4), working towards ACCA or CIMA is desirable.
- Previous experience in management accounting role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial systems (preferably SAP).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
