Job description

A quick look at the role

The Management Accountant has a broad range of responsibilities including completion of month end and year end duties in accordance with strict deadlines. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will provide insightful management information to both local management teams and central functions.

Your core responsibilities

• Balance sheet reconciliations and month end reporting
• Review and analyse variance to budgets/forecast with Senior Managers to drive improvement
• Assist with monthly business performance reporting, 5 year plans, annual budget and quarterly business forecasting
• Preparation of month end accounts including posting accruals and prepayments journals
• Prepare monthly tonnage files, maintenance of master contracts file etc
• Provide tools for effective cost control on projects
• Data provision for annual audit
• Raising of recyclate income invoices ensuring correct revenue prices are used and the tonnage data supplied is accurate
• Reconciliation of disposal invoices to monthly data

Our essential requirements

• Part qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
• 2 years management accounting experience gained (preferably) in the service, logistics or waste industries
• Strong system skills including advanced Excel and Power BI
• Ability to challenge and influence operational stakeholders
