Job description

Management Accountant - Wokingham (3 days a week on site) - £45,000 to £47,000

We are seeking a skilled Management Accountant to provide an effective accounting service by maintaining the General Ledger, ensuring the completeness and accuracy of financial records, and delivering timely management information to support business decision-making for our PE backed property services client.

A bit about the day to day...
  • Produce timely and accurate management information in line with internal deadlines and accounting policies.
  • Prepare journals to account for revenues and costs (including accruals and prepayments), ensuring accurate processing through the General Ledger so that management accounts are produced and issued according to guidelines and formats.
  • Provide insightful analysis and commentary on revenues and costs to stakeholders, ensuring account accuracy and legitimacy.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts for designated entities, addressing and resolving any queries.
  • Develop strong working relationships with directors and senior managers, offering information and support as required.
  • Manage project accounting processes, ensuring timely and accurate recording of timesheets.
  • Reconcile and maintain tight control over balance sheets for assigned entities, including diligent management of WIP provisions.
  • Manage time effectively to handle cyclical and additional workload demands.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in management account production, aligning with the business's evolving needs.
  • Complete statutory returns as required, including those for the Office for National Statistics.
  • Deliver detailed financial analysis to support project management teams with invoicing and revenue reporting.
A bit about you...
  • Part-qualified ACCA or CIMA.
  • Comfortable communicating at all levels within an organisation.
  • Excellent IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), including advanced functions such as pivot tables, lookups, and formulas (SUMIF, etc.).
  • High attention to detail while maintaining awareness of the bigger picture.
  • Proactive and self-motivated.
  • Strong team player mentality.
  • Eagerness to learn and improve existing processes.
  • Experience preparing management accounts through to trial balance.
  • Competence in analysing management accounts.
Desirable
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics (GP, AX, or 365).
  • Project management accounting experience.
  • Familiarity with the property market and associated services.
  • Knowledge of the planning industry.
  • Experience working in multi-site businesses with large volumes of data and multiple cost centres.
  • Understanding of divisional, regional, or branch accounting structures.
