Job Overview

Serco Limited – Maintenance Operative – AASC – Peterborough/Huntingdon/Kings Lynn/Spalding. Full time – 37.5 hours per week. Salary up to £30,000 depending on experience & skills, plus Serco benefits. Full UK driving licence must be held. Vehicle and tools provided.

Here at Serco, we work with Asylum Accommodation and Support Services to assist individuals through the asylum system, which includes providing them with temporary accommodation.

Role Description

As the Maintenance Operative your role is key in ensuring all requested repairs, be that reactive or proactive and pre‑planned (via manager), are carried out to the required standard and within our SLA deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out all identified maintenance and repair work (joinery, fitting, plumbing, painting & decorating etc.) within SLA timelines.
  • Manage your own workflow and work collaboratively with the team when required.
  • Ensure health & safety of yourself and all users of the property during and after works.
  • Purchase and manage materials using a company account card from approved Serco suppliers only.
  • Maintain vehicles provided by the company – regular inspections and professional clean condition.
Working Pattern
  • Mon to Fri – 7.5 hours per day between 08:00 and 18:00 to meet operational needs.
  • On‑call duties, working on a rota basis to provide 24/7 emergency cover. This will be carried out once every 8‑10 weeks for emergencies.
