Maintenance Engineering Technician

Location: Wrexham

Shifts: Rotating shifts: 6:00am-2:00pm / 2:00pm-10:00pm (Monday to Friday)

Salary: £42,000 per annum

Employment type: Permanent

A well‑established and fast‑growing manufacturing business based on the Wrexham Industrial Estate is looking for a Maintenance Engineering Technician to join its multi‑skilled engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a modern, highly automated production environment where engineering plays a critical role in keeping the factory running efficiently, safely and at high performance.

You’ll be working in a fast‑paced packing operation, supporting production through proactive maintenance, fault‑finding, continuous improvement and the introduction of new equipment and processes.

The Role
  • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults
  • Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance
  • Supporting production teams to improve line efficiency and equipment set‑up
  • Minimising downtime through fast, effective fault finding
  • Supporting the installation and commissioning of new machinery
  • Completing maintenance records and shift handovers
  • Driving continuous improvement and LEAN projects
  • Implementing engineering improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs
  • Managing and maintaining spare parts stock
  • Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene and health & safety standards
Essential Experience
  • At least 3 years’ engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical, Electrical or Multi‑Skilled Engineering
  • Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Able to work under pressure and manage workload effectively
  • High level of attention to detail
Desirable
  • Experience in food manufacturing or FMCG
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
