Location: Skelmersdale
Pay Rate: £19.50/hour + 30% shift allowance (£25.35 ph)

Working Hours:
Day Shifts: Mon-Thurs: 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm
Fri: 6am-12pm / 11am-4:35pm
Night Shifts (when required): Mon-Thurs: 9pm-6:30am

About the Role

We're seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Technician with a strong background in machine maintenance to join our team. You'll play a key role in ensuring our production equipment runs smoothly and efficiently, supporting both preventive and reactive maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance and breakdown repairs on machinery.
  • Monitor and control processes using Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Conduct in-line quality checks and establish process conditions.
  • Support delivery of finished products in line with cost, quality, and schedule targets.
  • Build strong working relationships with on-site stakeholders.
What We're Looking For

Experience: Minimum 2 years in machine maintenance.

Qualifications: Time-served or NVQ Level trained in electrical/mechanical maintenance.

Technical Skills:

  • Electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, servo controls
  • PLC fault finding (Omron preferred)
  • Robotics experience (ABB preferred – training available)
  • Ability to read electrical/mechanical drawings
  • Familiarity with SOPs and training processes
  • Willingness to work night shifts when required
Desirable Skills & Knowledge
  • Experience with Omron vision systems (training available)
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to assess and improve procedures and systems
  • Self‑starter with the ability to work independently
Bonus Qualifications
  • Experience in manufacturing maintenance with injection moulding, hydraulics, and pneumatic
  • Familiarity with PLCs, drives, and robotics
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations
  • Root cause analysis and fault diagnosis expertise
