Responsible for maintaining and repairing the plant, equipment and assets of Lyondellbasell Warrington to OEM standards and to ensure that plant is available as required by the production plan and that plant and infrastructure is maintained in accordance to the manufacturer’s recommendations.

Maintaining safety standards and complying with all relevant rules and regulations. Contributing actively to the provision of a safe working environment for all associates on site. Carrying out Continuous Improvement of plant and utilities by planned preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance work. Maintaining a clean, organized, lean and effective maintenance workshop and stores.

A Day in the Life:
  • Work in a safe manner complying with all LYB OE standards, rules and HSE regulations.
  • Contributing actively to the provision of a safe working environment for all associates on site including maintenance and improvement projects and supporting PTW and contractor control.
  • Responsible for maintenance and repair to the plant, infrastructure, equipment and assets of Lyondellbasell Warrington to OEM standards and to ensure that plant is available as required by the production plan.
  • Provide technical advice in troubleshooting and problem solving situations.
  • Work with minimal supervision. Attending breakdowns promptly and efficiently. Diagnosing faults and their root cause. Escalating any issues that cannot be resolved to the Maintenance Manager and to provide necessary feedback and support regarding failures and repairs, recommend improvements that are required to increase equipment reliability and safety.
  • Plan/prioritize workloads to support production goals by achieve the departmental KPI.
  • Continuous improvement of plant utilization including routine planned preventative maintenance and improvement projects, participating in capex projects to support the Maintenance Manager.
  • To assist in the developing the skill level in the team including apprentices, to support the effectiveness of the engineering team.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, lean and effective maintenance workshop and stores.
  • Work to high standards of housekeeping during repairs, maintenance and all other duties.
  • Identify and order any parts needed to carry out maintenance or project work. Liaise with the Maintenance Assistant to ensure they meet delivery dates and or times.
  • Ensure all work carried out is logged. Maintain good communications between shifts using the shift handover to give a detailed report, or a written report if required.
  • Participate and embrace company safety initiatives including Operation Clean Sweep, Global Safety Day & Global care Day.
  • Must work in compliance with the requirements of the site management systems (ISO 9001, IATF 16949 and ISO 14001).
You Bring This Value :

Education:

  • Electrical or Mechanical Apprenticeship (time served)
  • NVQ level 3 Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (HNC or above desirable)

Work Experience:

  • Experience in similar plant and equipment with minimum 5 years’ experience
  • Substantial Electrical and Mechanical fitting skills and experience. Installation experience & 18th Edition would be desirable.
  • Working in a similar automated environment within the extrusion & compounding sector would be desirable but not essential.
  • PC Skills and computer literate (Microsoft office & SAP).
  • Ability to communicate effectively at various levels within the organisation.
  • Good understanding of Health and Safety requirements within a manufacturing environment including risk assessments, PTW & contractor management.
  • Able to assess and manage complex maintenance problems under time pressure.

Skills:

  • Communication – this role has contact with all levels of personnel within the Warrington site and vendor personnel relating to maintenance companies
  • Problem Solving – to provide technical advice in troubleshooting and problem solving for the Warrington site
  • Fault Finding - Be able to read circuit diagrams and perform basic fault finding using PLC’s, Inverters & DC drives.

Languages:

  • Must be fluent in written and verbal English
  • Personal Leadership - The position requires initiative, personal drive to get things done and problem solving skills. Able to communicate the status of requests for services beyond normal working hours.
  • Drive for results – ability to solve breakdown issues quickly in order to minimise production down time.
  • Customer Focus - Communicate with Production department regarding completed work orders and the closing out of Work Permits
What We Offer

We offer an attractive compensation package with a competitive starting salary, dependant on skills & experience. We also offer participation in the Company’s discretionary short-term incentive (bonus) programme. Currently, the full-year target bonus for this position is 6% of base salary.

The holiday entitlement is 17 days/annum plus bank holidays.

We offer membership of the Company Defined Contribution Salary Sacrifice Pension scheme with employer contributions of up to 10% matching double employee contributions.

Working hours are 12 hour day & night shifts over a 3-week 12-hour shift rotation & does not include weekend working. The role attracts a pensionable shift allowance of £4,934/annum.
