Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to support equipment in a fast-paced production environment. The ideal candidate should have proven experience in maintenance, particularly electrical, and excellent problem-solving abilities. The position offers a competitive hourly rate of £18 – £19 and entails working Monday to Friday from 7:30 AM to 3:45 PM. This is a temporary role initially for one month but likely to be extended.

  • Conduct scheduled inspections and maintenance on essential equipment.
  • Respond to planned and unplanned electrical/mechanical tasks.

  • Perform preventative maintenance to reduce downtime.
  • Support production teams during start-ups and shutdowns.
  • Investigate and resolve recurring technical issues.
  • Promote safety and GMP standards.
  • Contribute to projects reducing energy costs.

Overview

We’re recruiting a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a busy production environment, supporting the smooth running of essential equipment and machinery on a temporary full-time basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer with an electrical bias who thrives in a fast-paced setting, with a focus on both preventative and reactive maintenance.

Responsibilities
  • Carrying out scheduled inspections and maintenance on essential equipment
  • Responding efficiently to both planned and unplanned electrical/mechanical tasks
  • Monitoring production lines and identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Performing preventative maintenance to reduce downtime
  • Supporting production teams with start-ups, shutdowns, and changeovers
  • Investigating and resolving recurring or significant technical issues
  • Proactively promoting and improving safety and GMP standards
  • Contributing to projects that reduce energy costs across operations

Benefits / Compensation

In exchange you will receive a competitive hourly pay rate of £18 – £19 depending on skills and experience plus accrued holiday pay whilst on assignment. Working full time Monday – Friday 7.30am – 15.45pm initially for one month but likely to be extended.
