Job description
Maintenance Engineer

Our client based in Nuneaton are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Engineer for their heavy manufacturing plant.

In this role, you will be an integral part of a small maintenance team responsible for ensuring the operational efficiency of facilities and machinery that include manufacturing, fabrication, and assembly operations. Your main aim will be to carry out general maintenance and repairs to keep equipment running optimally and to maintain safety standards across the site, including office and canteen areas.

The working hours will be 7.15am to 5.45pm Monday to Thursday (4-day week).

Duties - Maintenance Engineer
  • Maintain operational availability of all site equipment to maximise uptime.
  • Perform general maintenance and repair on machines, equipment, and facilities.
  • Ensure safe working practices comply with current legislation.
  • Collaborate with production teams to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Handle repairs to buildings and facilities as needed.
  • Diagnose and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Conduct electrical repairs and installations based on your qualifications.
  • Move towards a proactive preventative maintenance approach.
  • Keep accurate maintenance records and paperwork.
Experience required - Maintenance Engineer

NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in engineering is essential, along with previous maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.

Familiarity with manufacturing, fabrication, and assembly machinery is a plus.

A minimum of 2 years experience in a Maintenance Engineer or Technician role.
