Production Engineer

We are looking for a Production Engineer to undertake an exciting hands on production engineering role to support production and new product development introduction. This role will provide the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and offers opportunities for career progression.

Responsibilities
  • Design & develop new tooling schemes for specific details of parts being produced.
  • Produce prototypes including limited production parts.
  • Take engineering responsibility for press tooling.
  • Troubleshoot production issues on existing equipment.
  • Work on production improvements.
  • Participate in design reviews for new and current products.
  • Write specifications for new equipment for new products being developed.
  • Project manage the introduction of new machines and be able to run and train others on the new machines/processes.
  • Present solutions and ideas to the wider team (manufacturing, engineering, quality).
  • Develop a strong working understanding of:
    • Multilevel press setting
    • Single level mechanical & hydraulic press setting
    • Rotary presses
    • Moulding
    • Grinding processes
    • Heat treatment processes
    • Automotive APQP
Qualifications
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or apprenticeship route.
  • Ideally have 3 years experience in a similar role.
  • Hands‑on mechanical and electrical workshop skills.
  • Good communicator and self‑motivated.
  • Driven and persistent to achieve demanding targets.

Available salary: £35,000 – £40,000 per annum.
