Job summary

A leading automotive company is looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join their facility in Solihull. You will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and carrying out repairs on production equipment, while also assisting with the installation and commissioning of new machinery. Candidates must have a fully completed Electrical or Mechanical apprenticeship and relevant qualifications in electrical installation and maintenance engineering.

Qualifications

  • Several years’ experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Must have Electrical or Mechanical apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and modify maintenance scheduling of machinery and plant.
  • Carry out repairs of production equipment in case of breakdowns.
  • Install, commission, and maintain new equipment.
  • Maintain the technical infrastructure of the UK plant.
  • Plan and administer spare parts and production related consumables.
  • Assist in carrying out technical changes and improvements.
  • Create and optimize procedures.
  • Reduce maintenance costs and ensure delivery of KPIs.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join the team at our Solihull site. Our Production facility at our site in Solihull is a fast paced and requires quick thinking and responsive maintenance support to ensure we continue to deliver our products to our customer in sequence and in time. This position will initially be based on a single shift.

Key responsibilities:

  • Plan, advise and modify as required maintenance scheduling of machinery and Plant;
  • Carry out immediate repairs of production equipment and machines in the case of breakdowns with regards to all elements of failure i.e. mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic etc.;
  • Installation, commissioning and maintenance of new equipment;
  • Maintain the technical infrastructure of the UK plant building.
  • Plan, order and administrate spare parts and Production related consumables;
  • Assist the central technical departments in carrying out technical changes and improvements including relocations / modifications;
  • Create, modify and follow Optimise procedures;
  • Reduce year on year maintenance costs and ensure delivery of preventative maintenance KPI's.

Skills and experience required:

  • Several years’ experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment;
  • City and Guilds 2330 Electrical Installation Level 2;
  • Electrical Installation Level 3;
  • IEE 17 th Wiring Regulations;
  • City and Guild Level 3 Maintenance Engineering;
  • IPAF Access licence;
  • BTEC National Certificate in Electronics;
  • Pneumatik Fest/City and Guild.
