Job summary

A leading construction firm in Sutton-in-Ashfield is seeking a Building Maintenance Assistant to join their Building Services team. In this role, you will assist in routine maintenance activities and support craftsmanship tasks such as cleaning and repairs. Ideal candidates will have at least two years of building maintenance experience, basic computer literacy, and a full UK driving licence. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a responsible and inclusive work environment.

  • Healthcare experience would be advantageous but isn’t essential.

Responsibilities

  • Provide general assistance to craftsmen in the Maintenance Department.
  • Undertake routine plant room cleaning.
  • Unblock toilets and drains using manual and mechanical means.
  • Clean external drains, gutters and down pipes.
  • Replace ceiling tiles, wall tiles, vinyl flooring and ceramic floor tiles.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance tasks.

We are looking for a Building Maintenance Assistant to join our Building Services team in Mansfield.

Working as a Building Maintenance Assistant you will be responsible for undertaking maintenance activities. You will also be responsible for assisting the craft persons in maintenance activities and carry out associated tasks such as plant room cleaning.

What you’ll do:
  • Provide general assistance to craftsmen in the Maintenance Department as necessary.
  • Undertake routine plant room cleaning.
  • The use of manual and mechanical means for the unblocking of toilets and drains.
  • Cleaning of external drains, gutters and down pipes.
  • Replacement of ceiling tiles, wall tiles, vinyl flooring and ceramic floor tiles.
  • Tarmac repairs, general concrete repairs and small plastering repairs.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks such as window inspections, door inspections and to report on defects found.

What you'll bring to the role:
  • Candidates must possess a knowledge of building services and general building maintenance.
  • Candidates must possess basic computer literacy skills.
