We are looking for someone that has previous experience as a Maintenance Engineer or Handyperson; with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team with great communication skills, both verbal and written.

Location: Chesterfield Mayfair Hotel, London, Mayfair W1J 5EB

Employment Type: Full-time

Working Pattern: Shift work (5 days on, 2 days off)

Salary: 25,397 per annum plus service charge

The Chesterfield Mayfair Hotel, part of Red Carnation Hotels, is a four-star boutique hotel in the heart of exclusive Mayfair. Responsibilities
  • Respond quickly and efficiently to all repair and maintenance issues throughout the hotel.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance to ensure smooth operation of hotel facilities.
  • Undertake painting and touch-up work across public areas and back‑of‑house spaces.
  • Maintain and organise tools, materials, and equipment related to maintenance tasks.
  • Liaise with all departments to minimise disruption and respond to maintenance requests promptly.
  • Carry out minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general handyman duties as required.
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant health, safety, and fire regulations.
  • Keep accurate maintenance records and assist in maintaining service logs.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a Maintenance Engineer or Handyperson role, preferably in a hotel or similar environment.
  • Broad knowledge of basic trades including plumbing, electrical, painting, and general repairs.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Great attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
  • A calm and professional manner, especially when dealing with guests and urgent issues.
  • A flexible and proactive attitude with a willingness to work varied shifts.
