Job Title: M&E Shift Technician

Location: Heathrow area, TW6

Contract Type: Permanent - Shift-Based (24 / 7 Rota)

SALARY: up to £58,425 per annum plus Overtime

ROLE OVERVIEW

Trevett Services are recruiting an experienced M&E Shift Technician to join a high-performing engineering team within a major Critical Environment / Data Centre. Working on a 24 / 7 shift rota, you will support all mechanical and electrical operations on-site, ensuring uptime, safety, and compliance across critical building systems.

You will deliver planned and reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis, and operational support while working closely with the Shift Manager to ensure all work meets strict SLA and KPI requirements. A professional approach, strong communication skills and a proactive mindset are essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Carry out all Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) on M&E systems in line with site schedules
  • Complete all reactive and breakdown tasks, ensuring issues are resolved promptly
  • Maintain critical environmental conditions including UPS, Generators, HV systems, PDU’s, CRAC units
  • Demonstrate strong fault-finding skills using graphical system data and alarm information
  • Maintain safe working practices, including preparing and working from RAMS
  • Identify and rectify plant faults / defects, escalating to the Shift Manager when required
  • Maintain accurate shift logs, paperwork, and asset records
  • Supervise contractors on-site, ensuring correct permits and RAMS are followed
  • Ensure all critical areas remain secure, clean, and well-maintained
  • Provide holiday and sickness cover when required
  • Liaise positively and professionally with the client at all times
  • Support technical assessments, drills, and ongoing training
  • Stand in for the Shift Manager when necessary
  • Complete weekly timesheets and maintain proactive communication
  • Ensure full compliance with KPIs, SLAs, and operational processes
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Essential :

  • City & Guilds (or equivalent) in Mechanical, Electrical, or Refrigeration Building Services
  • HV Authorised Person (or the ability to obtain AP status)
  • 18th Edition (BS7671 : 2018)

Experience within Critical Environments or Data Centres

  • Strong knowledge of UPS, Generators, HV systems, Chillers, HVAC, PDU’s, CRAC units
  • Experience working in humidity- and temperature-controlled environments

Desirable :

  • Strong BMS controls understanding
  • Experience with alarm systems and graphical fault-finding tools
