Job description

We are looking for a Logistics Operative to carry out electrical safety testing on portable appliances in compliance with UK regulations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all electrical equipment owned by the business is safe to use, identifying potential hazards, and maintaining detailed records of tests performed. In addition to PAT testing, the successful candidate will support the Logisitcs Supervisor with collections and deliveries, basic equipment repairs, liaising with machinery suppliers and head office maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) on electrical appliances in various environments, including offices, industrial sites, and rental properties.
  • Identify and record faulty equipment, taking appropriate action where necessary.
  • Use specialised PAT testing equipment to assess appliance safety.
  • Label appliances according to their test results (Pass/Fail).
  • Maintain detailed records and reports of all tests conducted.
  • Carry out basic equipment repairs where qualified to do so.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in line with Health & Safety regulations and company procedures.
  • Travel to different sites as required, sometimes working independently or as part of a team.
