We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Logistics Assistant to join our client's team at the Cheshire Constabulary's Winsford Headquarters. PLEASE NOTE THE ROLE WILL BE SUBJECT TO POLICE VETTING CLEARANCE AND YOU MUST HAVE BEEN WITHIN THE UK CONTINUALLY FOR A MINIMUM OF 3 YEARS

Position Details
  • Contract Type: Temporary
  • Hourly Rate: 12.55
  • Working Pattern: Part-Time, 30 hours per week over 4 days 8am to 4pm
  • Location: Winsford
  • Driving Required: Yes
Role Purpose

As a Logistics Assistant, you will be at the heart of our logistics and mail services. Your mission is to ensure the efficient storage and movement of mail, stores items, forensic items, and property, while delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver stores, non-stores items, and mail across Cheshire Constabulary, adhering to guidelines and legislation.
  • Sort, frank, and deliver mail, including managing special deliveries and ensuring confidentiality.
  • Collect and deliver mail and parcels around HQ and outlying buildings.
  • Handle property management, including updating records in the Force systems.
  • Conduct vehicle checks, maintain cleanliness, and ensure security of vehicles.
  • Support stores work as needed, including measuring and fitting staff, unpacking goods, and cycle counting.
  • Occasionally attend court regarding the logistics of item movements.
What We're Looking For
  • Qualifications: Educated to Level 2 or equivalent experience.
  • Driving licence: A full and valid driving licence is a must.
  • Forklift Training: Willingness to complete forklift truck training within 3 months.
  • Experience: Some knowledge of postal processes and logistics services.
