About the role

The Locum Business Manager (also known as Locum Agency Manager) leads teams, develops personnel, and ensures high performance. Responsibilities include recruiting, training, motivating, and supporting agency partners to deliver seamless services. The role involves working with agencies varying in size and structure across Scotland, requiring resilience, creativity, and quick thinking. Flexibility for home working and occasional travel is provided, with a focus on North or South Scotland but potential support across other locations.

This role complies with Insurance Distribution Directive requirements, necessitating ongoing professional development and re-screening to maintain 'Good Repute' status, as detailed in the FCA Handbook.

About you

Ideal candidates will have insurance sector experience, preferably with NFUM product knowledge and licensing, but broader insurance knowledge is acceptable. Key skills include leadership, customer service, operational management, resilience, autonomy, and decision-making under pressure. Adaptability, motivation, organizational skills, and relationship-building are essential, within a regulated environment.
