About the Role

The Local Service Manager position in Cambridgeshire is a unique and dynamic role,

working across multiple services that provide temporary accommodation for both East and

This is a fast-paced role that requires someone who can:

  • Think on their feet and adopt a solution-focused approach.
  • Work collaboratively with multiple agencies to achieve the best outcomes for
  • customers.
  • In addition to managing temporary accommodation, you will also oversee several housing management-only units, where third-party providers deliver support to some of our most vulnerable customers.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
  • Strong leadership skills to manage a small but effective team.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with third-party providers and local authorities.
  • A sound understanding of safeguarding principles.
  • Knowledge of KPIs and the importance of supporting customers to maintain their accommodation.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
The Role of Local Service Manager Includes:
  • Leading the overall delivery of the service through team management and liaison with the Area Service Manager
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with partners, key stakeholders, and external agencies
  • Overseeing service delivery and ensuring compliance with KPIs
  • Managing the service’s financial performance and budget
  • Recruiting, managing, and developing staff
  • Ensuring flexibility around working hours to meet service needs
  • Responsibility for health and safety within the service
Skills and Experiences:
  • Previous experience in a managerial role within a similar service
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Compassionate, caring, and hands‑on approach to support
  • Experience in personalised support to maximise service user development
  • Ability to liaise effectively with statutory and voluntary partners
  • Full valid driving licence (travel is a requirement of the role)
