Overview

This successful and prestigious law firm has won a huge volume of new business. Due to their reputation in the market, they are the "Go To" firm for Litigation cases and landlord and tenant dispute resolutions. The focus will be on civil litigation disputes, including property disputes. In time there could be opportunities to work on commercial litigation cases, contract disputes, partnership disputes, defamation, insolvency and debt recovery. With several highly renowned partners, the firm is in demand, and there is an opportunity for an ambitious Litigation paralegal to develop a great career away from the high pressures of Bigger City Law firms.

Responsibilities
  • Opening and closing client files
  • Due diligence on clients
  • Billing and ensuring payments are made
  • Working with courts and third parties for required paperwork and documentation
  • Assisting on Section 8 and Section 21 eviction notices
  • Housing, tenancy, and long-leasehold issues
  • Recovery of debts including outstanding rental income
  • Possession Claims - residential and commercial property
  • Recovery of outstanding service charges
  • Inventory reviews and disputes over the condition of the property
  • Breach of Covenant
  • Claims for disrepair
  • Legal / Beneficial Ownership
  • Preparation of paperwork for both County Court and High Court
Qualifications / Requirements
  • Litigation admin experience
  • 1-2 years' relevant experience in a litigation/paralegal role
  • Experience with landlord and tenant disputes
  • Experience opening and closing client files, due diligence, and billing
  • Ability to work with courts and third parties for paperwork and documentation
  • Experience with eviction notices (Section 8 and Section 21) and housing/tenancy issues
  • Experience with debt recovery, possession claims (residential and commercial), and service charges
  • Inventory disputes, breach of covenant, and disrepair claims
  • Understanding of legal/beneficial ownership and preparation of paperwork for County Court and High Court
  • Good communication skills and a proactive approach to training and career development
