Role Summary

As Literacy Support Officer, you will play a key role in promoting a love of reading across the school. Working closely with the Literacy Lead, you will support the running and development of our library resource centre, coordinate reading initiatives, and provide targeted literacy interventions for students. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to young people's literacy, confidence, and engagement with learning.

Required Skills & Experience
  • Strong literacy, numeracy, and ICT skills
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with young people
  • Works well as part of a team and can manage own workload effectively
  • Enthusiastic about reading and literacy development
  • Experience in a school library or learning support environment

Working Pattern & Salary

Working Pattern: 36 hours per week, term time plus 5 days

Salary: Grade 4 (NJC scale points 6 - 8), £22,389 - £24,038 per annum
