Job description

This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who is looking for flexible work within our growing After School Club. We do ask that applicants are able to commit to at least 3 hours per week. Flexible hours offered covering Monday to Friday (15:00 - 18:00).

The Governors are looking for an enthusiastic person to complement our hard working and friendly team at Boroughbridge Primary school and Nursery.

Responsibilities and Expectations:

  • Be passionate about caring for children and young people.
  • Have experience of working with children.
  • Have knowledge of matters relating to safeguarding of children.
  • Have the ability to display positive social skills and encourage good behaviour in pupils.
  • Have the ability to establish constructive working relationships with pupils, parents / carers and colleagues.
  • Have adequate verbal and written communication skills appropriate to the need to communicate effectively with pupils, parents / carers and colleagues.

The candidate must meet the qualification requirements to be included in the staff:child ratios at level 3:

  • Hold a qualification that is recognised by the Department for Education as full and relevant at the appropriate level (see DFE Qualification Checker).
  • Be a student or apprentice working at the level below the level of study.
  • Have successfully completed the experience‑based route.
Out of Hours School Club Assistant

You will support the school with the provision of extended care by supervising children and organising safe, creative and appropriate play activities. You will assist with providing healthy snacks. Any safeguarding concerns will be reported to your Line Manager.
