Job summary

A leading law firm in South Benfleet is seeking an experienced Legal Cashier to join their expanding accounts department. Responsibilities include providing support to the accounts team, managing ledgers, and conducting daily banking functions. The ideal candidate has Legal Cashier experience and strong IT skills, with additional knowledge of CLC accounting rules being a plus. This position offers benefits including 20 days holiday, pension, and private medical, with an option for hybrid working.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Legal Cashier or in a similar law firm environment.
  • Proficient in Word and Excel.
  • Familiarity with accounting rules is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Provide accounts and administration support to the accounts department.
  • Administer Sales, Purchase, and Nominal ledgers.
  • Undertake daily banking functions including reconciliations.
  • Prepare cheques and manage petty cash.
  • Process online bank transactions.

Legal Cashier

Our client a leading law firm specialising in property law, have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Legal Cashier to join their expanding accounts department.

Duties
  • To provide accounts / administration support to the accounts department
  • To assist in the administration of the Sales ledger , Purchase ledger, Nominal ledger
  • Undertaking daily banking functions including bank reconciliation for Client and Office accounts
  • Preparation of cheques
  • Assist in the administration and reconciliation of petty cash
  • Preparation of cheques
  • Administration and processing of online bank transactions, including Telegraphic Transfers, Faster Payments
  • Posting HM Land Registry , search fees, and court fees to the relevant ledgers
  • General administrative duties
Candidate
  • Legal Cashier experience or working experience in a similar law firm environment
  • Good IT skills , Word, Excel , knowledge of CLC accounting rules would be advantageous
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work as part of a team and manage and prioritise your own workload
