Lancaster University College at Beijing Jiaotong University (Shandong, China) – Maternity cover for a Computer Science Lecturer, commencing 2 March 2026.

This role is part of the joint institute between Lancaster University and Beijing Jiaotong University. The campus is located in a remote seaside town one hour south of Weihai city, Eastern Shandong province, with an adjacent bus station, high‑speed railway station, and Weihai airport less than an hour away.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high‑quality teaching across core undergraduate modules, including Human Computer Interaction (HCI).
  • Support the joint institute’s teaching and scholarship objectives in China for one year.
  • Provide maternity cover for two semesters (16 weeks each).
Key Qualifications
  • PhD in a related area of Computer Science or Software Engineering.
  • Strong programming skills and background in software engineering or software development.
  • Successful visa application for the UK and China.
Remuneration and Benefits

Salary Grade 7 / 8: £41,064 to £59,966, depending on qualifications and experience. Included in the package are furnished accommodation, international medical cover, and two return flights.
