Job description
Overview

We are seeking a Hair & Beauty Lecturer to be based at our Stornoway campus.

Responsibilities

The post holders will be responsible to plan and deliver effective learning, teaching, assessment and student support, which results in a high-quality student experience and engaged and successful learners. This is a key role, which involves working as part of a wider team to design and deliver a holistic approach to support for learning.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

The suitable candidates will hold an SCQF level 7-12 qualification. You will have experience in delivering learning, teaching and assessment of groups of students. You will have excellent skills in communication, teamwork, critical and creative thinking, problem solving and numeracy. You will demonstrate a strong understanding and ability to effectively use a range of digital tools and technologies. Experience of teaching further and higher education qualifications would be advantageous.

A level of Gaelic ability would be advantageous to your application.

Details

Salary: £41,833 - £50,359 per annum, pro-rata plus Islands Allowance

Location: Stornoway

Working Hours: 1.5 hours, temporary until June 2026.
