Job description

This is a brilliant opportunity to join our expanding community of talented, committed and inspirational colleagues.

Working in a dynamic, values led organisation, this role is for those who are passionate about development and innovation, within a lively college community.

We offer a range of benefits, including health and wellbeing support, flexible working, discounts on travel, parking and gym memberships through our exciting Benefits Platform, Green Car Scheme, personal development opportunities and attractive pension schemes.

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated lecturer who can teach students on sport courses to achieve outstanding results in both internally and externally assessed units. The role requires strong subject knowledge across key areas of the sport curriculum, including Anatomy & Physiology, Psychology, Fitness Testing and Training. Experience or a background in Rugby League is desirable but not essential, and the ability to draw on relevant industry experience to enhance teaching, practical delivery, and student engagement is highly valued.

The post includes providing tutorials, learner support, administrative duties, outreach work, and organising trips and visits. You will be expected to monitor, guide and record the progress of a group of students as their personal tutor, ensuring they are fully supported in achieving their goals.

You will be working in a highly successful sport department, with access to excellent facilities for classroom teaching, practical sport, and fitness delivery.

In Sport, we offer a range of qualifications from Level 1 Sport through to HND Sport and Exercise Science. We have a strong development programme for Football, Rugby, and Netball, as well as holding beacon status for leadership in sport.

We have a well‑established network of employers who work with the College to provide excellent work experience placements, preparing our students to become outstanding ambassadors in the sport industry.

The successful candidate will have a strong track record of excellent results, experience in delivering a wide range of practical activities both within the curriculum and as part of wider student enrichment, and the confidence to incorporate specialist knowledge, particularly in Anatomy & Physiology, Psychology, and Fitness Testing and Training into dynamic and engaging learning experiences.

The College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Employees will, in accordance with statutory guidance, be subject to a comprehensive checking process including references from current and previous employers, health, right to work in the UK, an enhanced DBS check and a further check against the appropriate barred list. To comply with legislation, you are required to obtain a DBS check for your role. We will be asking Protocol National Ltd/Esafeguarding Ltd to undertake this process on our behalf.

We reserve the right to bring forward the closing date of the adverts should we receive a sufficient level of interest!
