About the role

Manchester Adult Education has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivating English skills lecturer to join our maths and English team. The role will involve the planning, delivery and assessment of part-time adult courses. These courses could include Functional Skills English (Entry Level to Level 2), GCSE English, Level 3 English for literacy and language teachingand other context specific courses.

Key Responsibilities
  • To deliver teaching and learning to at least a consistently good or outstanding standard.
  • To assess learners and work accurately against appropriate awarding body criteria / key course targets to ensure learners achieve their qualifications / course goals.
  • To comply with safeguarding procedures.
  • To take course leadership responsibilities.
  • To take part in team meetings and working groups.
  • To ensure close liaison and good communications with other staff in matters concerning learners.
  • To comply with the service quality assurance procedures.
  • To comply with the service policies and procedures including maintaining records on learners including attendance and achievement.
  • To take personal and professional responsibility for keeping up to date in the subject area and administration processes.
  • To Positively represent the MAES both internally and externally at all times.
  • You will be joining a committed and supportive team of teachers who are passionate about supporting adult learners in the community to improve their English skills to secure employment, advance to higher education and achieve their full potential.
