Learning Support Tutor

Location: Malvern
Contract Type: Permanent, Term time only
Hours: Variable Hours
Salary: Competitive

Our client are looking to appoint a Learning Support Tutor. This position is term time (34 weeks) variable hours.

Responsibilities
  • Tutoring children from 5 to 13 years old and provide high quality learning support to match children’s individual needs.
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • To tutor pupils who require learning support, from Years 1 to 8, tutoring one-to-one or in small groups.
  • To liaise with subject teachers and the SENDCo to identify gaps in pupil learning and agree a plan to help pupils overcome individual barriers to learning.
  • To develop and maintain positive and supportive relationships with pupils and staff in the Learning Support department.
  • To prepare, write termly reports, contribute to monitoring progress towards pupil targets, suggest new targets and meet with parents when required.
  • Up-to-date knowledge and understanding of a range of teaching and learning strategies and their use to deliver the curriculum.
  • To become familiar with the life of the school and understand the needs and expectations of the pupils.
  • To be ultimately responsible to the Headmaster through the SENDCo.
  • A desire to role model their Qualities and to inspire, empower and develop our pupils so that they achieve their optimal outcomes.
Qualifications
  • You’ll have a teaching qualification, and able to tutor in both Maths and English at both KS2 and KS3.
  • Experience of, and success in, a similar role.
  • Knowledge of KS2 White Rose maths approach and vocabulary.
  • SEND training.
