Overview

Learning Support Assistant - Basildon Essex. Basildon based Primary School; Specialist Primary School for Autism (ASD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD).

Role and Responsibilities

• Support students with complex learning difficulties in small classes (6-8).
• Work with an experienced team including 1 Teacher and 2-3 Teaching Assistants.
• Set clear boundaries and provide positive reinforcement; be patient and understanding.
• Support pupils in developing communication skills and interacting with the outside world.
• Assist with personal care tasks as part of the daily routine, including changing, toileting and feeding pupils as required.
• Contribute to a calm, purposeful and well-resourced learning environment.

Candidate/Skills and Experience

• Recent UK TA experience.
• NVQ Level 2/3 Supporting Teaching & Learning in Schools.
• GCSE Maths & English grades A-C.
• Experience supporting learners with autism and complex learning difficulties.
• Good BM Skills.
