Learning Care Support Assistant (LCSA)

This vacancy is to start ASAP until the end of the academic year- this position can also be renewed next September depending on performance!
Hours: Minimum of 4 days a week - exact hours TBC depending on student\'s timetable but you\'ll need flexibility between 8:45-17:00.
Contract: Temporary, long term, with the potential to go permanent depending on experience.
This challenging new learning care support assistant position is based in Harrow, Northwest London, based in a further education setting. This role will be in the PMLD sector of the college, working with students with physical and/or learning disabilities, aged 16-25 years. You will be working with students on a 1:1 basis, assisting with their learning/activities during lessons, personal care, and at mealtimes. Some students will also be non-verbal or have limited communication, so experience with Makaton\'s and/or PEC\'s is preferred. Some students will also sometimes exhibit challenging behaviour, so experience/training in de-escalation techniques etc is preferred.
