Description

Hybrid: 2 days per week in-office

In 2002, we became the first insurance comparison site. Our purpose? To make the process of sorting your insurance, utilities or personal finances as easy as possible.

We’re part of RVU. A group of online brands that include Uswitch, Tempcover and money.co.uk. As a group, we use our shared knowledge to empower people, and help them make decisions confidently across a range of household services.

Confused.com is at the cutting edge of the FinTech industry, so we’re always looking for extraordinary talent. If you love what you do, get in touch today!

About the role

Insight is the dynamic B2B arm of Confused.com, providing data and analytics solutions to partners in the insurance industry. We empower our partners with actionable insights to optimise their operations, improve insurer experience, and drive business growth.

As a Lead Analyst / Pricing manager, you will operate at the heart of Insight’s analytical strategy - leading a high-performing team of analytical specialists, shaping strategic insights, and personally delivering high-priority outputs that drive commercial outcomes. This role sits at the intersection of pricing and market insight, supporting both internal decision-making and external partner performance.

You’ll work across all Insight partners to deliver business-critical analysis, facilitate cross-team collaboration, and contribute to long-term technical strategy. In doing so, you’ll be building a culture of curiosity, continuous improvement, and strategic influence.

What you'll be doing
  • Lead and develop a team of senior analysts, fostering a supportive and high-performance culture.
  • Translate strategic business priorities into a clear and actionable analytics roadmap.
  • Oversee delivery across concurrent projects with competing demands, ensuring rigour, timeliness, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Own and deliver hands-on analytics that inform insurance partner strategies, pricing decisions, and customer propositions.
  • Identify long-term risks, champion improvement opportunities, and influence strategy through high-quality storytelling.
  • Coach and develop team members through regular feedback, mentoring, and career development planning.
  • Represent the team in senior forums, contributing to data-informed commercial decisions and external thought leadership.
  • Support Insight product and engineering teams with development of analytical orientated data products
  • Serve as the go-to expert on insurance pricing and risk-based methodologies, embedding best practices across internal projects and external partner initiatives. Apply this expertise to deliver high-impact analytical solutions for Insight partners.
  • Monitor and interpret key regulatory developments within the personal lines insurance market, assessing their implications for insurer capabilities. Leverage this insight to advise stakeholders and Insight partners on potential impacts to pricing strategies, competitive positioning, and market dynamics.
What we're looking for
  • Substantial experience in data analytics, ideally in insurance or FS, with a proven record of cross-functional impact.
  • Strong technical skills (SQL, Python, Tableau) and the ability to apply them to high-ambiguity challenges.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver program-level outcomes while balancing leadership, execution, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Deep expertise in insurance pricing methodologies, with a strong grasp of risk-based pricing principles, underwriting dynamics, and portfolio optimisation.
  • Passion for people development and creating inclusive, high-performance team environments.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity, setting priorities, and aligning your team’s work with broader business goals.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, with an aptitude for presenting insight and influencing strategy at a senior level.
  • Strategic thinker with excellent communication skills and a bias for action.

Highly desirable

  • Thorough understanding of FCA regulatory guidance, with awareness of evolving compliance requirements and their strategic implications for pricing and market practices.
  • Experience in client-facing consulting role
