A leading cancer care provider in Liverpool is seeking an enthusiastic Pharmacy Technician for Medicines Optimisation. The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre has a vacancy for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Pharmacy Technician for Medicines Optimisation. We are a friendly, forward thinking and dynamic department. This is an ideal opportunity for a candidate who has the necessary skills and experience to be able to lead on the delivery of a high-quality service and facilitate the optimal use of oncology medicines within the aseptic production unit.
You will need to have excellent communication and team-working skills as this role will involve collaborating with colleagues across the organisation and with external providers to support the procurement and utilisation of oncology medicines. You should have previous experience delivering medicines optimisation and medicines value projects.
Leadership and training skills will be required in this role as you will be the line manager for the Oncology Pharmacy Procurement Lead and support the Oncology Pharmacy Procurement Assistants to deliver medicines value and procurement objectives. You will also be expected to support with the training and development of the procurement team.
To act as the lead pharmacy technician in relation to the optimal use of oncology medicines within the aseptic production unit. The post holder will be required to evaluate and optimise the processes that support the procurement and utilisation of oncology medicines.
This role will involve analysis of local and national procurement contracts to ensure the procurement of oncology medicines delivers value for the organisation. This role will also involve utilising problem-solving skills to resolve medicines supply issues as they arise.
The post holder will be expected to support, implement and manage cost effective use of biosimilars and other high-cost medicines in accordance with specialised commissioning criteria.
This role will involve supporting the Principal Pharmacist Medicines Optimisation to deliver reporting on medicines use within the organisation. You will also be required to analyse data and prepare reports for finance around Key Performance Indicators such as waste and stock holding.
