A regional healthcare provider is seeking a Lead General Practice Nurse to oversee nursing education and development across Herefordshire and Worcestershire. The role involves workforce planning, collaboration with GP practices, and leading nursing teams. Candidates should possess a nursing assessor qualification and teaching credentials, along with significant experience in clinical skills delivery. This hybrid role requires travel to various locations within the region.
Herefordshire and Worcestershire Training Hub isdelighted to offer a Lead GPN post in the Training Hub. The successful GPNwill benefit from training and development opportunities whilst deliveringday to day and strategic lead nurse activities to support the practices andPCNs of Herefordshire and Worcestershire.
The role will also include engaging with seniorNursing leads at NHSE and across the region, in particular with other RegionalTraining Hub Lead Nurses. In addition membership of the ICS Nursing andMidwifery Faculty to represent Primary Care.
The role will be a combination of workforceplanning, education and representation for General Practice Nursing.
In additional we have Ambassadors from otherprofessions and as a team often work together to promote themulti-professional learning therefore this role is well supported.
* The hours for this role are negotiable and for 22.5 to 37.5 hours per week*
*This is a hybrid position and requires the ability to travel across both counties as required*
Work withHerefordshire and Worcestershire Training Hub to shape ongoing developmentfor Nursing teams within Primary Care.
UtilizeMidlands GPN scoping report and other local surveys, reports, andintelligence to develop training programs, forums and activities that supportnursing teams in practice.
Lead theTraining Hub nursing team. Act as an ambassador for Primary Care Nursing.
Delivertraining as appropriate to own qualifications and expertise. Join TrainingHub Leadership team to share innovation and insight. Work to an academiclevel 7 ensuring project outputs meet evidenced based standards. Contributeto the growing knowledge base to support all Primary Care Nurses. Share bestpractice gained through networking and project delivery with NHSE leads andwider partners and the developing 10 year NHS plan.
Support workforce planning discussion andrequirements including supporting student placements to encourage pipelineexpansion.

This role will directly shape and influence the work that is currently underway across education and workforce development through the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Training Hub, leading delivery of the General Practice Nursing Strategy. This role will also provide key senior clinical leadership for nursing teams across Primary Care in the ICS.
The role will deliver innovative projects and influence the local interpretation of GPN strategy to enable the Training Hub to play a central role in shaping and supporting the future nursing workforce. It will also deliver on nursing specific KPIs within the Training Hub contract including supporting placement growth and apprenticeships.
The role will also be the voice of general practice nursing for Herefordshire and Worcestershire at regional and national levels as appropriate with the support of the Chief Training Hub Officer.
