Job summary

A leading engineering recruitment agency in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the mechanical design of new product developments. The ideal candidate will have a background in aerospace or defence, with at least 5 years of experience and expertise in using simulation analysis tools. The role demands creativity, autonomy, and strong leadership in project execution, while SC Clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in aerospace or defence environment and working knowledge of aerospace standards.
• Chartered Engineer status (or working towards).
• Experience of developing mechanical design solutions through entire lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed designs using 3D CAD and use FEA and CFD tools to simulate mechanical behaviour.
• Undertake tolerance analysis of designs.
• Act as Lead Engineer on projects and bids when required.
