Job description

Meta is seeking a highly motivated corporate governance lawyer to join our International Governance team. While the remit of this team is global, this role will lead the design, alignment, and operationalization of board-level governance frameworks for Meta's international entities, with a focus on Irish holding and operating companies and related group entities. The successful candidate will be someone who thrives in an ambiguous, cross‑functional environment and will partner well with multiple stakeholders to understand different perspectives and facilitate decision making by identifying key issues and tradeoffs.

Responsibilities
  • Draft board‑level governance frameworks (in particular relating to emerging regulations), manage cross‑functional alignment and end‑to‑end board approval processes.
  • Partner closely with other legal specialist teams, finance, tax, treasury, risk, compliance, and external counsel to resolve open issues and facilitate board decision making.
  • Manage the output of a globally distributed team to ensure timely delivery of corporate governance solutions.
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Responsibility & Non‑Financial Reporting, Finance and other cross‑functional teams on Meta's global reporting programme.
  • Coordinate director briefings, support entity‑specific audits and periodic evaluations of governance roles and committees.
  • Provide high‑quality corporate legal advice on group‑wide reorganizations and other ad‑hoc projects as required.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Meta requires all employed attorneys to have a law degree or equivalent certificate to permit the practice of law and be appropriately licensed and authorized to practice law for the company in their assigned work location. Unless prohibited under local law, an attorney must hold a current practicing certificate (including where required from the relevant authority in the jurisdiction of the assigned work location) or the local law equivalent bar registration or license as may be applicable.
  • Solicitor permitted to practice in Ireland or the United Kingdom.
  • 4+ years post‑qualification experience in corporate, corporate governance, and/or regulatory practice at a leading law firm or in‑house in a multinational environment.
  • Experienced in cross‑functional collaboration with finance, tax, treasury, risk & compliance and external advisors on a wide range of issues such as privacy, financial compliance, intragroup funding, risk management and subsidiary governance.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills having a proactive approach, who can distill complex and novel issues into concise documents for leadership and boards.
  • Experience with quickly and accurately assessing legal, practical and business risks and presenting this advice succinctly and at speed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Post‑graduate governance qualification and/or associate membership of a recognized governance institute (e.g., Chartered Secretary).
  • Experience building and operationalizing board‑level governance frameworks - translating new legal obligations into regulated/quasi‑regulated contexts.
  • Project management skills (trackers, timelines, stakeholder alignment) across globally distributed teams.
  • Experience in high‑growth tech, telco or fintech industries.
