Job summary

Qualifications

  • Education to A level (or equivalent) in Biology or other relevant scientific subject or relevant experience.
  • NHC / HND / Degree in science equivalent is ideal.
  • Experience of laboratory testing in a food laboratory.

Responsibilities

  • Undertaking routine laboratory work and performing analysis to standards.
  • Using the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) in accordance with the procedures.
  • Liaising with internal and external customers, dealing with their requests and queries.
  • Carrying out environmental controls and ensuring adherence to the task rota.
  • Participating in the EQA / IQA proficiency schemes.

  • Using the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) in accordance with the procedures.
  • Liaising with internal and external customers, dealing with their requests and queries.
  • Carrying out environmental controls, QA controls and ensuring adherence to the task rota.
  • Participating in the EQA / IQA proficiency schemes.
Qualifications

Shift Pattern

We are currently looking for staff to work on a rotational shift pattern that operates as follows:

  • 2 Days On, 2 Days Off, 3 Days On, 2 Days Off, 2 Days On, 3 Days Off.
  • Example shift pattern over 2 weeks:
  • Week 1: On Tue-Wed, Off Thu-Fri, On Sat-Mon Off.
  • Week 2: On Tue-Wed, Off Thu-Fri, On Sat-Mon On.
  • This cycle repeats every 2 weeks.
