Job summary

A leading organization in financial operations is seeking a KYC Team Lead in Belfast. This full-time permanent role involves performing KYC checks, communicating effectively with stakeholders, and mentoring KYC Analysts. Candidates should have a degree in finance and significant experience in KYC roles. Understanding of cryptocurrency regulations is advantageous. Salary is commensurate with experience, offering a dynamic environment in a new team expanding in Northern Ireland.

Job description

MCS Group is supporting a scaling organisation operating at the intersection of cutting‑edge technology and the digital‑assets world. With a strong track record across several market cycles, the firm builds modern systems that help institutions engage confidently with the crypto ecosystem. They are now seeking a skilled KYC Team Lead to play a crucial role in building out their new financial operations function here in Belfast. This is a brand new, full‑time permanent job opportunity with one of the most exciting new entrants to the NI market in years.

The Role
  • Performing KYC/CDD checks on new clients and conduct periodic reviews for existing clients. Including: reviewing client documents, name screening, adequacy of SOF/SOW corroboration
  • Working closely with all relevant internal stakeholders and ensure that there is effective communication with parties such as L2 Compliance, Operations, Legal, BD, & more
  • Identifying potential risks associated with the business relationship and escalat[e] any red flags, concerns
  • Engaging clients and internal stakeholders in a timely and professional manner - helping to facilitate the collection of relevant documents and information
  • Ensure that reviews and conducted in a timely manner within Service Level Agreement (SLAs)
  • Assisting with completeness of necessary data and maintaining an accurate record of all existing and potential clients
  • Playing a key role in the professional development of KYC Analysts
The Person

We are looking for an excellent self‑starter with exceptional organization skills. Key areas include:

  • Degree‑level education ideally in a finance / financial services related field
  • Significant experience in KYC / Client Servicing roles within the financial sector
  • Experienced in Goole Suite or similar cloud‑based tools
  • Excellent organizational, time management skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast‑paced environment
  • Demonstrable experience of reviewing KYCs of individual and corporate clients - understanding of complex corporate structures is desirable
  • Existing understanding of cryptocurrency, blockchain and regulations across jurisdictions is advantageous
  • Experience in Transaction Monitoring is desirable
Location

This will be a Belfast based role, as one of the first members of the new NI Team. Salary: Commensurate on experience
