Job Title: Structural Engineer (2 Years’ Experience)

Location: Greater Manchester

Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum

The Role

You will join as a Structural Engineer with around two years of post‑graduate experience. You’ll be embedded within project delivery teams and supported by senior engineers and directors to build your skills in a supportive, yet autonomous environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop structural designs and calculations for multi‑material projects—including steel, concrete, masonry, and timber.
  • Prepare reports, drawings, and specifications aligned with current British Standards (BS) and Eurocodes (UK‑compliant).
  • Collaborate with architects, MEP consultants, and contractors to ensure seamless integration of structural elements.
  • Conduct design reviews, checking and quality controlling work across junior team members’ output.
  • Visit sites as required for feasibility studies, inspections, and to support project execution.
  • Engage in technical meetings and support presentations to clients and delivery teams.
  • Contribute to internal continuous improvement such as optimising design workflows or enhancing digital tools/software processes.
Your Profile
Essential
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in structural design, including use of analysis software (e.g., Tekla, SCIA, SAP2000, IDEA Statica) and CAD/BIM platforms (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
  • Strong technical knowledge of steel, concrete, masonry, or timber design in accordance with UK regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Clear communication abilities, both verbal and written—confident in producing reports and presenting to internal teams and clients.
  • A proactive, team‑oriented attitude; keen to learn and progress.
Desirable (but not essential)
  • Familiarity with sustainability or embodied carbon assessment tools.
  • Experience with multidisciplinary project delivery and client‑facing exposure.
  • Chartered status (ICE, IStructE) or clear route toward professional accreditation.
