Junior Quantity Surveyor

Location: Northampton

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday

Salary: DOE

A growing and forward-thinking business is looking for a Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their team. This role offers clear progression opportunities based on performance, direct access to senior decision-makers, and the chance to work in a results-focused environment that values initiative. You’ll also have the opportunity to influence pricing and planning processes while working within a supportive team. The Junior Quantity Surveyor will support the commercial and site teams across a range of projects, ensuring effective cost control, procurement, and contract management.

Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor and manage project costs
  2. Assist with procurement and sourcing materials
  3. Prepare and review tender documents, including bills of quantities and SORs
  4. Maintain accurate site records and track progress
  5. Support with contractual, health and safety, and environmental compliance
  6. Liaise with site teams for accurate paperwork submission
  7. Support payment collection and dispute resolution
  8. Review subcontractor quotes and process applications for payment
  9. Record, price, and manage variations and change orders
  10. Work closely with the Senior QS to deliver projects on time and within budget

The Candidate:

  • 1–4 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying role (ideally within construction/civils)
  • Qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or similar (or working towards one)
  • Practical mindset with the ability to work in a fast-moving environment
  • Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and realistic expectations of site work
