A training academy for electrical skills is seeking applicants for an eight-week course in the electrical switchgear sector. Participants will receive a £180 weekly training allowance and travel/childcare support. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, eligible to work in the UK, and not disqualified due to immigration status. Successful candidates will earn a Level 2 Electrical Installation qualification and have a guaranteed job interview with a partner company at the end of the training.
Successful applicants to the Academy will undertake an eight-week training course for work in the electrical switchgear sector. Training will include five weeks intensive training at North West Regional College and three weeks on-site training at VERTIV in Derry/Londonderry. Training starts on Monday 2 February and finishes on Friday 27 March 2026. Applicants must be available for the entire duration of the training period. Successful participants work towards a Level 2 entry level qualification in Electrical Installation (EAL) and are guaranteed a job interview for a permanent operative role with VERTIV. Offers of employment will be solely at the discretion of the company following the interview and any further employment checks the company may make. Training allowance of £180 per week and travel/childcare expenses if applicable, will be paid during the 8 week academy period.
This is an Assured Skills academy running for 8 weeks during which successful applicants will receive a training allowance of £180 per week along with travel/childcare expenses where applicable. Participants will receive a weekly training allowance of £180 (£36 per day) for the duration of the Academy, as well as help with travelling and childcare expenses where people qualify.
