Overview

We’re working towards an ambitious future, one we want to build together with all our colleagues. This is why we are looking for a Junior Packaging Technologist

You will support the implementation of packaging innovation, sustainability, and cost-out initiatives across Hilton Food Group. This role will contribute to delivering packaging solutions that meet customer requirements, reflect consumer insights, and align with market and business needs.

Key Accountabilities

• Administer and organise packaging technical data using available systems such as Foods Connected – project data, specifications, and test results.
• Liaise with suppliers and other organisations to organise new and innovative packaging solutions and collaborate on projects to bring these to market.
• Understand the sustainability requirements of Hilton Foods and their Customers.
• Assist with the development and implementation of new packaging solutions on a regional and global scale, ensuring packaging is fit for purpose (by leading the completion of testing and trials), and by following packaging development best practices.
• Understanding best practise in relation to packaging development.
• Support the delivery of cost-saving opportunities through packaging optimisation.

Key Experience, Knowledge and Skills

• Exposure to packaging development or food manufacturing environments (internships, placements, or entry-level roles).
• Experience supporting packaging trials or working with packaging materials (preferred but not essential).
• Familiarity with working in cross-functional teams (e.g. NPD, operations, technical, procurement).
• Basic understanding of packaging materials and formats.
• Excellent team working and relationship building abilities.
• Previous experience in a similar environment is preferable, due to the unique working conditions when on the factory floor.
