THE OUTNET are now seeking a talented Junior Merchandiser to join the team. Some of the essentials for you to know are:

Location: Our Westfield office in Shepherd's Bush

Reporting into: Senior Merchandiser

Here is a breakdown of what you’ll be doing:

Planning

  • With guidance from Merchandiser, full year planning and reforecasting for department of responsibility driven from historic analysis and strategic goals, in line with Company vision
  • Submit monthly sales, stock and markdown forecasts relating to total business and department targets
  • Submit clearance forecasts to support sales, margin & closing stock targets
  • With guidance from Merchandiser, full year brand planning with in season reforecasting to reflect trade and supply opportunities / risks
  • Own vendor planning packs reflecting the dynamic business changes
  • Work with buying teams to sign off OTB targets, working collectively on strategies to support sales and margin targets

Trading

  • Pro-actively manage and control departments in line with trade activity to minimise risks and maximise opportunities for monthly and seasonal KPI’s
  • Manage intake flow into business to hit monthly forecasts, drive sales and minimise risks
  • Review and present in season stock opportunities and risks to merchandiser in line with forecasts to maximise sales and reduce stocks
  • Working with Upload Planners to forecast adequate upload levels in line with sales budgets / re-forecasts
  • Suggest in season tactical actions to ensure departments hit KPI’s
  • Key contact for all analysis and conclusions relating to departments of responsibility
  • Conduct detailed ad-hoc and pro-active analytical analysis relating to all KPI’s and dependants

Team

  • Work closely with Merchandiser and internal stakeholders to strive to improve and challenge existing processes
  • Demonstrate and reinforce the Company Vision and Values at all times
  • Role model the company message to the team and the need to drive profitability
  • Provide on the job coaching & support to ensure that direct reports are able to meet and exceed the requirements of the role
  • Monitor and review performance of direct reports, with merchandiser identify individuals who are ready for promotion or require performance improvement plans
  • Alongside Merchandiser take appropriate corrective action with team members who fall below standard (in consultation with HR Department)

The type of person we are looking for:

  • Graduate level education (or equivalent)
  • Extensive relevant experience in fashion retail merchandising preferably with online and branded experience
  • Numerate with strong analytical and computer skills
  • Proven track record of creating positive impact on business through merchandising strategy
  • Good judgement and decision making skills
  • Confidence in suggesting calculated risks
  • Strong customer awareness and understanding
  • Passionate about product, strong market and brand awareness
  • Discreet and professional with excellent communication skills
  • Exceptionally organised, methodical and efficient
  • Time keeping & ability to meet stringent deadlines
  • Must have the confidence to contribute ideas to the team and working processes – even those outside your day-to-day remit
  • Pro-active and able to show initiative/ideas to constantly improve the The Outnet offering.
