Job description
Overview

St Bede’s College Canterbury is seeking a motivated, progressive junior learning support Coordinator to improve educational outcomes for Year 9 and 10 students by strengthening inclusive practice and providing specialised learning interventions. This is a full-time, permanent position commencing January 2026. The successful applicant will support and uphold the Catholic special character of the school and participate in the college’s co-curricular program.

Responsibilities
  • Improve educational outcomes for Year 9 and 10 students through inclusive practices and targeted learning interventions.
  • Support the implementation of learning support strategies and interventions to help students achieve their potential.
  • Engage in the co-curricular activities of the college as part of the role.
  • Collaborate with staff to strengthen inclusive education across the junior school.
Qualifications and requirements
  • Certificated teacher status (Secondary) with eligibility to teach in New Zealand.
  • Suitable for beginning teachers.
  • Ability to teach a broad range of subjects as listed: English, Health and physical education, Learning languages, Mathematics and statistics, Science, Social sciences, Technology, Te reo Māori, The arts.
  • Experience or demonstrated capacity in learning support and inclusive education is desirable.
