Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a ‘Junior Editor + Media Manager’ to join us on an initial 6-month fixed term basis in our Manchester office. This role combines technical media management with hands on editing. You'll manage rushes, storage and delivery workflows while building on existing editing skills to edit engaging and high-quality content across our online platforms. This is a great position for someone who is organised, has a meticulous eye for detail and a strong technical understanding of post-production plus a desire to learn more in a fast growing production company focused on Sport.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Editing, particularly on Adobe Premier Pro. Cutting short-form content and digital assets
  • Working with Producers during QC, applying feedback to edits and complete versioning for delivery to broadcasters, platforms and clients
  • Supporting the editorial team with file transfers and data management
  • Maintaining tidy, well documented project structures and naming conventions including preparation of SSDs for shoots
  • Ingesting, organising and backing up of all media assets plus wiping and recycling of drives
  • Managing media across edit suites, servers and cloud storage
  • Taking an active role in the archiving strategy and long-term media storage
  • Troubleshooting media issues and provide technical support when required

This role is predominantly Monday-Friday but may also require early starts, late finishes plus weekend and bank holiday working where necessary as well as travelling to locations where we are recording.

Requirements
Who you are
  • We'd love you to have experience working as a Media Manager or as an Edit Assistant
  • You'll need to be confident using Adobe Premier Pro and have basic editing skills with a good sense of timing, narrative and visual storytelling
  • Ideally you'll understand basic motion graphics (e.g. After Effects)
  • You'll have a good understanding about production and postproduction workflows and are comfortable working with a variety of file formats, codecs, frame rates and files transfers
  • Ideally you'll be familiar with MAM systems, metadata processes or remote-edit workflows
  • You're comfortable multitasking across several productions and deadlines
  • You are a proactive team player with strong communication skills who can think on your feet and remain calm under pressure
  • Ideally you're already familiar with our content on The Overlap
