Job description
Overview

Junior–Mid Data Scientist | London | Hybrid | £40,000–£55,000

I’m currently supporting a tech-led Fin-Tech organisation based in London that’s looking to grow their data function with the addition of a curious and capable Data Scientist. This is a great fit for someone early in their career who’s looking to deepen their experience across analytics, modelling, and stakeholder engagement.

The team is working on a mix of internal tooling and customer-facing insights, so you’ll get exposure to both operational and strategic projects. You’ll be helping the business make smarter decisions by turning raw data into meaningful stories and building the tools to make that process scalable.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Exploring large datasets (structured and unstructured) to uncover trends and opportunities
  • Building predictive models and experimenting with machine learning techniques to solve real business problems
  • Collaborating with product and engineering teams to embed analytics into internal tools and workflows
  • Creating clear, engaging visualisations and dashboards for non-technical audiences
  • Helping maintain and improve the company’s data infrastructure, including their central data repository
  • Staying up to date with new tools and approaches in the data space and bringing fresh ideas to the table
What They’re Looking For
  • 1-3 years of experience in a data science, analytics, or similar role
  • Strong working knowledge of Python and SQL (R is a bonus)
  • Familiarity with machine learning concepts and statistical modelling
  • Experience with data visualisation tools like Power BI, Tableau, or similar
  • Bonus points for exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) or tools like Databricks
  • A proactive mindset and the ability to communicate technical ideas clearly
Why This Role Stands Out
  • Hybrid working model (2-3 days in the office)
  • Supportive team with mentorship from experienced data professionals
  • Opportunity to work on varied projects with real business impact
  • Competitive salary and benefits including pension, healthcare, and generous holiday allowance
