Overview
Barking & Dagenham College is looking for a part-time Job Coach - Reach & Rise to join our Supported Internship programs. This role supports young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to develop skills, gain workplace experience, and transition into the world of work with confidence. Salary: £21,385 - £22,543 pa inc London Weighting (pro rata to 31 hours per week, 38 weeks per year). Hours: 31 hours per week, term-time only.
Responsibilities
- Support and empower students with SEN to develop skills for employment, independence, and social inclusion.
- Provide tailored coaching in real work environments, helping interns understand their strengths and improve employability.
- Collaborate with employers to create inclusive, supportive work placements that help individuals succeed.
- Celebrate progress as students thrive and move toward their career goals.
Qualifications and Experience
- GCSE A-C, Grade 4 or above, or Level 2 in English and Maths (E).
- Training/coaching qualification at Level 2 or above (D).
- Certificate in TSI – Systematic Instruction Methodology (D).
- Recent and relevant experience of teaching SEND learners at Entry level and Level 1 (E).
- Experience of working with young people with a wide range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (E).
- Experience of working in a customer service environment (E).
