Overview

IT Support Engineer - Full Time - Larne c£35,000

REED Technology Belfast are delighted to partner with our client, an industry leader in manufacturing, who due to continued growth and expansion are seeking to recruit a IT Support Engineer to join their team. The successful candidate will provide technical assistance in resolving IT-related problems/issues/requests primarily for employees of the organisation. Perform a range of tasks including technical support, analysis, installation, testing, maintenance and training under the direction of IT Management.

Responsibilities
  • Primarily responsible for providing technical support and service restoration. Receiving and opening trouble tickets, communicate with and help associates to resolve their IT-related issues, problems, and requests, demonstrating good service quality
  • Maintain inventory and conduct asset management.
  • Install, fully configure and support Windows Workstations, servers, laptops, mobile devices.
  • Answer questions and resolve problems in Microsoft suite of applications.
  • Develop and maintain IT-related documentation.
  • Responsible for maintaining and promoting an on-going and effective rapport with customers, and peers.
  • LAN/WAN - patch cord moves/additions as required, VLAN assignment.
  • Installation and troubleshooting of peripheral IT hardware - printers, scanners etc.
  • Maintain and operate internal Helpdesk system.
  • Any other duties as may be reasonably required by your manager from time to time.
  • Participate in IT projects such as system upgrades, migrations, and rollouts
  • Participate in afterhours support work as agreed with line manager.
Essential Criteria
  • Some experience in applying own hardware and software diagnostic/troubleshooting skills within a networked PC environment
  • Competent working knowledge of PCs
  • Competent working knowledge of the Windows Operating System with a familiarity of some or all of the following technologies: Windows 11, Windows server, Microsoft Office 365, Browsers, Local Account Management, Installs and removals, Command line, System Management Tools.
  • Competent working knowledge of PC installations & repair of same
