Overview

I am hiring an IT Security Engineer on behalf of a cybersecurity and infrastructure solutions provider with over 25 years of experience, serving both national and international clients. They design, implement, and manage network architecture, data centre infrastructure, secure WLAN, and camera systems, plus comprehensive security solutions. Their services cover risk analysis, threat protection, ongoing monitoring, and managed services. They emphasise manufacturer-independent product selection, high availability, redundancy, and delivering technical and economic excellence tailored to medium-sized businesses.

Responsibilities

• Support and optimise customer IT security solutions, including operation, analysis, troubleshooting and redesign to meet evolving needs.
• Gather and document customer requirements, designing and implementing tailored security architectures and configurations.
• Work with leading vendors and technologies (e.g. Cisco, Fortinet, FireEye) to deploy and integrate security products.
• Investigate and resolve complex technical issues, providing expert advice and acting as a trusted partner for clients.
• Stay current with new security products and standards, testing, evaluating and presenting new solutions to customers.

This role is on-site in Frankfurt.

Essential qualifications

• Relevant degree or equivalent qualification e.g. Computer Science, Cyber Security etc.
• At least 2 years of hands-on IT security engineering experience
• Strong knowledge of network and security technologies — VPN, routing protocols, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention, encryption, Windows and Linux systems.
• Familiarity with key security vendors e.g. Cisco, Fortinet
• Familiarity with Information Security standards e.g. ISO 27001
• Excellent problem-solving and customer-service mindset, with the ability to work independently and in teams.
• Minimum B2 level German or above with a good knowledge of English

Desirable

• Relevant Vendor Certifications e.g. Cisco CCNA/ESA/WSA, Fortinet, FireEye
