At Mercedes AMG High Performance Powertrains we offer a Level 4 IT Software Apprenticeship Programme, studying towards a Level 4 Applications Support Lead qualification which will tap into your passion and determination to win, giving you a real opportunity to contribute to our success story. As a team we pride ourselves on challenging and developing our students with exposure to a range of exciting and challenging projects spanning across Motorsport and Advanced Technology on the cutting edge of vehicle electrification. You will work on projects that push the boundaries of your creativity and technical capabilities, and where your passion can help to push the boundaries of science and technology on the Formula 1 racetrack and the road. We are passionate about improving reliability, availability and performance, focusing on enabling the team to deliver results and succeed on the track. Responsibilities
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and technical excellence while troubleshooting and resolving software and IT issues for colleagues across the business
  • Collaboratively improve systems and procedures to reduce complexity and improve reliability
  • Develop bespoke software solutions for rollout across the company
  • Deliver software solutions using the most appropriate programming languages and technologies to support the delivery of excellent IT services
  • To be skilled at problem solving, written and verbal communication, with strong attention to detail and task completion.
  • To be flexible and open, a team player, and target and deadline driven.
  • You will need a willingness to succeed, with dedication to your team and developing new skills.
  • You will have the ability to prioritise and be capable to perform under pressure and overcome challenges.
  • You will have achieved GCSEs or equivalent qualifications in both Maths and English at a grade 4 or above.
  • To have a passion for writing software and delivering solutions using your skills and talent
  • We also offer an IT Systems Apprentice Scheme, focusing on computer hardware, networks and security.
Knowledge and Experience
  • Delivering exceptional customer service
  • Operational support within an IT department or equivalent
  • Planning, organising, and delivering IT tasks within a team environment
  • Software development and/or scripting in a modern software language, such as C# or Python
  • Scripting, orchestration, and automation techniques
  • Software development practices, technologies, systems and services e.g. MS DevOps
