Are you experienced delivering targeted interventions to KS2 or KS3 students in maths/numeracy?

We are seeking a committed Numeracy Intervention Teacher to join an inclusive co‑ed academy in Wandsworth. You will have a pivotal role in minimising learning gaps improving progress of students across KS3 & KS4.

Purpose of the Role

As an Intervention Teacher you will deliver targeted numeracy interventions to Key Stage 3/4 students and support wider numeracy provision across the academy. The role includes additional numeracy responsibilities as directed by the Head of Maths.

Key Responsibilities

As an Intervention Teacher you will:

  • Deliver numeracy intervention lessons to KS3 students, including preparation and differentiation of resources
  • Carry out baseline and interim assessments and track student progress
  • Deliver aspects of the alternative curriculum to KS4 students, including basic numeracy
  • Supervise and support students, including those with special educational needs, ensuring safety and access to learning
Person Specification

We are looking for an Intervention teacher with:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Primary or Secondary
  • Specialism in Maths
  • Proven experience teaching in UK schools
  • Ability to plan, implement and evaluate effective actions for pupils at risk of underachieving.
Experience, Knowledge & Skills
  • Proven experience teaching numeracy
  • Experience working with children performing under national standard
  • Understanding of barriers to learning and progress
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and adults
